Regina M. Conceição graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a BS in Women’s Studies and Spanish. Her family is from Cape Verde, in Africa, and she is fluent in Cape Verdean Creole and Spanish. She is also a DONA-certified doula (CD) and lactation counselor (CLC), holds the CDA (Child Development Associate) credential, and is certified in adult and infant CPR.  She is a doula consultant with the By My Side Support Program in Brooklyn and a Child and Family Specialist for Columbia University Early Head Start Perinatal Support Program.  In 2007 she established her doula business, A Passion for New Beginnings, Inc.
